Howard N. Stewart is President / CEO of AGM Container Controls, a local Tucson manufacturer. He has served in that capacity since the year 2000. He is a strong supporter of Workforce Education and Tuition Reimbursement, which, in turn, has led him to become a strong champion of the educational opportunities that are provided by Pima Community College. Over Howard’s 20 years of running AGM Container Controls, he has simultaneously been quite active in the community. For example, in 2015-2016, he served as the Campaign Chair for the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA). In 2016-2017, he served as Chair of the UWTSA’s Board of Directors. Howard is currently the Chair of the UWTSA’s Tocqueville Society, which he has chaired since 2015. Howard has served on UWTSA’s Board of Directors since 2013. Howard currently serves on the Tucson Metro Chamber (TMC) Board of Directors, on which he has served since 2012. Howard also serves on TMC’s Public Affairs Council, on which he has served on since 2017. It is from this capacity, that Howard launched a movement called “FlyTucsonFirst”. In 2019, Howard chaired the “Heart Ball” for the Southern Arizona division of the American Heart Association. Howard has been honored numerous times for his leadership: in 2002, the TMC named Howard their “Small Business Leader of the Year;” in 2009, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C, named Howard’s company, AGM Container Controls, “America’s Best Small Business;” and in 2018, Howard was named “Southern Arizona’s CEO of the Year” (large company category) by Tucson Local Media and Inside Tucson Business.
